Who Is James Leichter?

James R. Leichter is considered by many to be a “working man’s” consultant. He has been in the industry since 1985 (he was born in 1964). He is an accomplished service technician, installation technician, sheet-metal fabricator, plumber, and electrician. He was one of the youngest to ever receive a coveted Master Mechanical Certificate in the state of Kansas. James has been certified in approximately thirty states to perform all phases of gas piping, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration system design, service, and installation.

James is the founder and past President of EnviroTech Heating & Cooling, Inc., one of the most successful residential/light commercial service and replacement companies in the area. He has been featured in several major newspaper articles as well as local television and radio. He has served as a consultant to major insurance companies who asked him to investigate alleged fraud and abuse related to the HVAC industry.

James is currently the President of two companies located in Lenexa, Kansas: Easy Street Inc., which manages the growing accounting, flat rate pricing, software and book publishing business, and its sister company, MrHVAC.com, Inc., a management-consulting firm that focuses on seminars, business coaching and personal training. James works hard to improve the contracting industry through his efforts as a nationally recognized public speaker, computer software developer, teacher, writer, and business consultant. James has taught seminars all over the United States. He has been a featured speaker at many national events including ComforTech and ISH. James has addressed groups including Associated Builder’s and Contractors, PHCC, QSC, and ACCA.

James works specifically in business development, organization design, employee performance criteria, leadership, marketing, and service/replacement strategies. He is the editor of a popular newsletter and author of several publications and textbooks. He has written for The News, Contractor, and others.

His unique combination of practical field experience and “book smarts” make him an ideal person to communicate with today’s contracting business owner. As many of his clients will say “he has been there and knows what he is talking about”.

MrHVAC.com’s website may be the largest of its kind in the world. This huge site contains a collection of free financial calculators, consulting materials, tips, and advice. This web site has been written about in various industry magazines such as Contracting Business and is one of the most popular sites of its kind on the web.

On a personal note, James has studied three forms of martial arts and holds a black belt in karate. He is a three time state sparing champion and placed second in a national open style (all styles welcome, fewer rules, and no weight divisions) karate tournament.

James can be reached at 913-492-9930.

“Jamie, I had to write to you personally to thank you for spending time with our dealers. As always, you were excellent. I have yet to meet a speaker/consultant who can inspire people to achieve more in the way you do. I must say I have the utmost respect for your talent and for you personally. You are absolutely an inspiration to me!”

“I attended one of James’ sessions today in Chicago. I was very impressed with his presentation. He is by far the best speaker I have heard in a long time and maybe ever. I have been in business for over 30 years and thought I had heard it all. I agree with and practice a lot of what he said today. I thought I was the only one with some of these ideas. . . “

 Thank you, Jeff Swanson

I just can't tell you how depressing it is to meet a man who has worked hard all of his life. An honest man. A man who has made significant sacrifice for our industry - like missing his kids grow up. A man who is now perhaps in his 60s, with a stiff neck and a sore back. A good man who is flat ass broke and has little to show for what he put his family and himself through. My professional goal is very simple. It is to teach people how to make a fair profit, while paying themselves properly, and save money before it is too late.
